ASG Launches Campaign for Crime Victim Notification with IVIS
November 5, 2001
Columbia, SC — For safety and for peace of mind, crime victims and witnesses need to know about changes in the statuses of their offenders. Providing this information is vital to victim services.
The Internet Victim Information System (IVIS) is state-of-the-art technology that helps providers meet these demands.
In October ASG began a campaign to increase awareness of IVIS and the solutions it can offer for area-wide victim services. The effort involves making contact by phone and mail to public safety administrators and victim advocates across the United States.
A highly secure system for victim notification and case management, IVIS helps to provide services to victims and witnesses of crime. Using the Internet, it allows agencies to work effectively together in a victim service network. Supported by the United States Department of Justice, IVIS technology assists victim service providers and crime victims in different states.
IVIS was developed by Advanced Solutions Group, a team at the University of South Carolina that has more than ten years' experience designing expert database solutions for government agencies. The team has the ability to partner with IBM to provide a full system with hardware, software, networking, and other required support.
