IVIS Seminars Show Power of the Spoken Word
Seminars for South Carolina victim advocates demonstrate IVIS, ASG's powerful notification and case management system for victims of crime. New advocates as well as those familiar with IVIS can learn to use the system in free training sessions offered by ASG.
Outreach specialists are available to travel to individual agencies, and ASG also holds periodic hands-on training sessions on the University of South Carolina campus. At the seminars, ASG staff provide in-depth training on uses and functions of IVIS. They also answer individual questions.
One of the most exciting portions of a seminar is a demonstration of an IVIS notification phone call. After submitting a test case activity to the system, demonstrators activate the speaker phone so that all can hear the voice of IVIS. After prompting the listener for identification, IVIS delivers its important case message by using both a recorded voice and text-to-speech software.
