Current Projects
ASG thrives on working for information discovery in multiple types of projects. Sponsors from many different fields approach ASG for help in solving information problems, and the group’s work often is as diverse as victim notification services to coastal metadata management. All projects share common goals to meet challenges for information management.
Network Security Research
Cybersecurity
for mission-critical computer networks is a main concern for the U.S.
Department of Defense. Through sponsorship by the Defense Advanced
Research Projects Agency, ASG and the Complex Problems Group (CPG)
have been developing methods to identify cyberterrorist attacks and
improve intrusion tolerance. Learn more…
Systems for Coastal and Ocean Observation
Real-time data collected in new web systems will help coastal managers understand and predict impacts of storm surges and other hazards in the Southeast and across the United States. Through initiatives led by the University of South Carolina’s Belle W. Baruch Institute beginning in 2002, ASG is helping develop a system for collecting and analyzing coastal and ocean data in North and South Carolina. Learn more about Caro-COOPS…
