WebEval
ASG has developed an advanced online testing and evaluation system called WebEval. WebEval has the following features:
- Self-registration
- The creation of surveys and evaluations
- Multiple delivery modes: single question, section by section or entire test on a single web page
- Restricted or un-restricted navigation mode
- Tracking of time elapsed for each question and display using pie graph and histogram
- Three question types: multiple choice, true/false, and simple answers
- Question weights for graded evaluations
- Modular architecture to promote ease of modification and customization and addition of new features
When Charleston County School District (CCSD) needed an online testing application as part of their adoption of new district-wide technology standards, ASG worked with the district to build a customized implementation of WebEval, named TeachEval.
To fully implement new standards for using technology in classrooms (Teacher Technology Standards), the Charleston County Schools developed a Teacher Professional Development Plan. This required assessment plan included an Online CCSD Essential Technology Competencies for Teachers Self-Assessment Instrument to be completed by all CCSD teachers and staff on a yearly basis.
TeachEval filled the need for the online self-assessment component of the standards implementation. It was deployed in 2004 and used by CCSD to help meet the new Teacher Technology Standards.
